Map A Story turns any book into an interactive map of real-world locations from the story. Browse popular maps on the Explore tab, search by title, author, or location, and tap any marker to learn about what happened there in the book, the real history, and what's there today.
Find books by title (type and tap "Map it"), by author (tap "Search by author"), by photographing a book cover, or by location (sign in and tap "Search by location" to discover books set near a city or region).
Each location shows what happens in the book (hidden by default to avoid spoilers), the real historical background, and what exists there today. Locations with a green dot are places you can visit — tap for directions.
Sign in to build a personal library. Maps you view are automatically saved. Search, sort, and remove books anytime. Track your reading challenges and mark locations you've visited in real life.
Share any map via link. Use the Tour button to open a driving route in Google Maps that visits all locations in order. Purchase the book through our Bookshop.org links supporting independent bookstores.
